about the blog:
This is a Sinnoh-centric prequel and next-gen Pokémon blog. The world itself is set in an AU where characters, similar to Pokémon, have typings, called affinities.
I borrow what I vibe with from different Pokémon canons, and toss out the rest. Otherwise, everything is headcanon and various fantasy/sci-fi tropes tossed in for fun.
Storywise, there are two major arcs - one that follows Cynthia’s journey from ordinary trainer to Champion, and then one that follows Cassia, Cynthia’s daughter, years later.
Likewise, the character pages are split into two different pages. Prologue is for the 'adult' generation, the canon characters and the generation prior - and Epilogue is for the fankids - the next generation.
about the world:
The world we live in is made up of a mysterious living energy. The Aura Guardians call it 'aura,' our ancestors called it both 'qi' and 'mana.' Our Pokémon access and manipulate this energy with their non-physical attacks on a daily basis, and among us live people who have the ability to control and guide this energy themselves. Much like Pokémon, those with this ability can have different affinities for particular types of energy, which can be divided along the same eighteen types that we normally classify Pokémon with.

General premise: the Pokémon world contains people who have affinities that align with their powers - e.g. telekinetic psychics, steel affinities can metalbend, grass affinities make plants grow, etc. These bloodlines go back ages to ancient times, and form most of the upper crust of Sinnohan society. In Sinnoh, three Noble Houses stand at the top of the hierarchy: House Prometheus, House Themis, and House Gracidea, affinities Psychic, Steel, and Grass respectively. Each House governs itself in different ways, but most have some sort of inner council, made up of members of other prominent families.
Each group has their representative at the Circle, which in olden times was the governing table of Sinnoh at which all decisions were made. In those days, the Archons stood at the head of the table; since their bloodline was presumably wiped out, seats for the Imperial House of Ariste are left empty. These days, the Circle’s power and influence is greatly reduced, and the region’s cities and towns are mostly governed by self-elected mayors. However, for tradition’s sake, the Sinnohan Champion and their Elite Four are also given seats at the Circle.
