Abilities

Hollis inherits a fraction of his mother's psychic powers, which manifest as a mild telekinetic ability. He's able to lift and manipulate small objects, which he uses to charm people and to win at coin flips and the like. His main regret is that he's unable to lift cameras and other filming equipment with his powers, because it would make things much easier. On occasion, he overestimates his powers and gives himself headaches.

Mahina: He shamelessly takes advantage of her kind heart. In return, he has a soft spot for her, and seeks to win her over to his side of any argument. Also, she's really pretty. He's totally not afraid of ghosts or her subject matter, but why does it have to be so creepy? It gives him the heebie jeebies and makes him very jumpy.

Aina: Aina's subject matter and audience are of the most interest to him, especially after Mahina leaves the group. It becomes sort of a group pet project, except Hollis has lofty ambitions and Aina wants her videos to be more accessible, less high-class polished. They clash loudly when they disagree, which is often. Hollis flirts with her too, which Aina will play along with to get free food, or will ruthlessly shut him down.

Aulu: On first meeting, Hollis dismisses the baby-faced kid, because he's quiet and tiny compared to the two girls. But the kid holds a hell of a grudge, and clearly doesn't like Hollis encroaching on what he views as his territory. Despite himself, Hollis is somewhat impressed by what Aulu has managed to do with the group's limited experience and resources with filming. However, while there are some similarities, film is not photography! That being said, over the course of their journey, they've gotten close enough that Hollis would ten out of ten hire Aulu for any photography jobs he needs in the future.

Pokémon

Fran: Hollis' faithful long-suffering assistant, Fran uses his psychic powers to levitate various recording equipment and hold it in place. They've been together for a very long time since childhood. Fran is the child of Sabrina's Alakazam.

Winky: The first Pokémon Hollis ever caught, he found Winky mooching off the electricity generator at the film set, and persuaded her to come home with him instead. She's very timid, and likes to ride in his pockets, or in his hair. She recharges his battery packs and electricity generators when he asks. She refuses to evolve, and holds an Everstone.

The friendship bracelet Hollis is wearing is a gift from Aina.

Hollis is very bad at battling.

Hollis' name is from the holly tree and Hollywood. Holly is associated with the Roman festival Saturnalia, which was held on December 17th, which I've set as Hollis' birthday.

Notable Inventory

Cool Shades: His red lens sunglasses are from one of his child acting roles, specifically the one that boosted him to minor fame. His character wore them to focus his powers and prevent them from exploding out of control; he wears them just to look cool.
