Ky is a coordinator who uses music in his appeals. Although he enjoys the attention that Contests give him, he would much rather be making music. The shadow of his successful coordinator father and cousin makes him uncomfortable in the coordinator world, and the early success of his older sister makes him envious and grouchy. He is often quiet and prefers solitude to the nervous chatter of his fellow competitors in the waiting room, but prefers teamwork to working solo.

Ky can fence with a sword for fun. However, he does not carry a foil with him on his journey; instead his skills are used for mock impromptu fights with improvised weapons, like drumsticks.

A scion of the ancient people of Sootopolis, Kyanite has the ability to open the Sky Pillar, and other locations that are keyed to the bloodline.
Sound Manipulation: If sound was an affinity, he'd be classified with it. It's been argued that sound could be grouped with the flying affinity; however it remains grouped with the normal affinity. He has the ability to enhance the soundwaves of his music to a near-deafening level.

Agate (older sister): While they were closer as children, they've drifted apart, with Agate staying in Sootopolis and Kyanite travelling the world. Kyanite is on some level resentful and jealous of his sister's early success; while it doesn't mean he's on bad terms with his sister, it means he tends to be somewhat defensive and grouchy when anyone brings up his extremely talented and accomplished family.

When he first entered the contest scene, Kyanite used Steven's last name in an attempt to avoid the notoriety of Wallace's last name in the contest community. Unfortunately for him, the contest community remembers his baby photos, and Stone tends to be a pretty recognizable last name anyway. He's mostly dropped the pretense, and goes both these days.
Boomburst was originally named Boom by a young Ky, and it remains his nickname. However, as they grew older, they mutually decided that the Exploud needed a better full name that would explain the nickname.
Ky plays the electric guitar, and can sing and play percussion and the piano. He has a band with the rest of his travelling party.
He also has perfect pitch, which often leads to him playing melodies or tunes on random everyday objects. He sometimes records these attempts, which he posts to his relatively popular social media account.
Ky bleaches his hair to the lighter blue it is now. It's originally a darker turquoise, like his older sister's. He pays great attention to his overall image, although he often gives off the impression that he doesn't care.
