Lord Regulus Adrasteia inherits a squabbling, discontent House tearing itself apart upon the death of his father: he spends the rest of his life trying to mend it back together. Respected for his straightforward ways and his tendency to tell the truth, he is a voice of reason among the chaos.
It's an open secret that the main power behind House Prometheus is his wife, Lady Andromeda - they present a united front, as their marriage, although arranged, is one full of love and mutual respect, and has weathered multiple storms, including the disappearance of both their sons.
While he is a good orator and speaker in public, he is a bit of a dork in private: dad jokes abound. He works very hard to connect with the younger generation - he believes that they are the future, and intends to treat them as such.
Regulus, like his father, specializes in the art of the psychic forcefield. Although he is capable of psychic pushing, his powers are not quite enough for fine-tuned telekinesis, and lack the mental aspect of telepathy and other mental aspects of psychic affinity altogether. To make up for this, his mastery of technique and psychic forms is one of the best - one of his many responsibilities is teaching the younger generation to control their powers.
Alabaster: Alabaster is his father's sword - a two-handed greatsword, it is white and vaguely bonelike in appearance. As with most noble-born children, Regulus is well-versed at swordplay.
Andromeda (wife): They've been betrothed since childhood, in the cradle - their fathers were good friends before they fell out. Although it is an arranged marriage, it's a loving one where they support each other. Their affection is uncommon among the older ranks of House Prometheus - arranged marriages have fallen out of style as the years have progressed. He trusts and follows his wife's lead on most topics - he understands that she often has a better read on the situation due to her psychic abilities, in addition to her rare foresight visions.
Orion (brother): Regulus does his best, with his younger half-brother, to give him the love and reassurance he needs, when most members of the House either ignore him, or outright disdain him. He does envy him when his father favours his younger brother, although he does his best to hide it. Regulus gives him the benefit of the doubt, and second - third - too many chances, because he does not want to believe that Orion would turn against him. However, while Regulus can turn a blind eye to Orion's havoc in House politics, he cannot turn a blind eye to the harm he wreaks on his family - it is the last straw.
Antares (father): Regulus has a complicated relationship with his father - while he was the only legitimate child and heir, and was treated as such, his father was mercurial, and sparse with his praise and love. As a child, he would push himself to ridiculous extents to seek his praise and approval. As a teenager, he disapproved of the way that his father raised his younger brother, and took it upon himself to make up for what he saw as his father's failings, becoming disenchanted with his father's views and ways, and deciding to do better.
Will (son): Regretfully, Regulus' relationship with his eldest son is strained, due to the distance between Sinnoh and Johto, in addition to the heavy baggage. While they are family, and get along, they're nowhere near as close as when Will was a child. Although he hides it well, Regulus on some level is still hurt because of Will's lack of trust and decision to run away, and because both of them are avoidant of the issue, it will likely never be resolved. He hopes that Will finds his happiness, and although he is somewhat bemused by Will's flamboyant attitude and choice of lovers, he does his best to accept them.
Lucian (son): Regulus remembers Lucian as a child very well, and has fond memories of teaching him the basics of shielding. Will was often more attached to Andromeda, which meant Lucian gravitated towards him as a result. After the disappearance and subsequent reunion, their relationship is drastically strained and altered - Regulus is at a loss as to how to interact with him, when all he can remember is the child that dogged his footsteps. Something about Lucian's otherness frightens him, on some level. When they reunite, he does his best to give Lucian the space he needs, while pushing him to improve his sloppy control and technique - it's a delicate balance, and one he feels he gets wrong more often than not, but he persists, nonetheless. As the years go on, their relationship does get better, as they figure each other out, and Lucian matures.
Cynthia: He's wary of her at first, as are all of the Houses - they're not quite sure what her intentions are. He does have an easier time accepting her - it becomes pretty apparent early on that she's a good influence on Lucian, and she's always around when he is. Then Andromeda goes and mothers her, which he's rather bemused about, but assumes it's because she's Lucian's friend - Andromeda basically has to hit him with a clue bat about Lucian and Cynthia, which he defends himself because he doesn't exactly have the most normal view of romance, either. Regardless, he's happy for them, and takes great pleasure in shutting up certain old crotchety members of the Inner Council with the argument that Lucian is technically marrying up in society.
Cassia (granddaughter): Lots of grandfatherly doting, although he's forced to keep somewhat of a distance because of political reasons. Thoroughly enjoys making her laugh and giggle, and willing to do exceptionally out-of-character things to elicit a reaction. He's not really privy to much of her troubles and concerns, but willing to share any of his wisdom if she needs it.
Sophia (great-niece):He considers her an exceptionally competent successor, and has faith in her leadership abilities. Problem is, the traditional thing to do would be to pass on the Lordship to his direct heir, her father.
Regulus is named for one of the brightest stars in the night sky. Derived from Latin for 'little king.'
